King of Comedy Steve Harvey's King-Sized Mansion Up For Sale

Funnyman, actor, radio host, author, and GMA correspondent Steve Harvey has placed his Plano, Texas, mansion up for sale.  His monster home (below) can be yours for only $3.5 million.  This is down from an earlier asking price of $3.95 million.

Of course, you'd need to find the front door first.  Doesn't this look like two separate homes joined together at the center?  Well, it is!  It turns out that the home on the left is actually his two-story guest house.

Steve's double-house sits on 3.25 acres and comes with a 7-car garage, though the yard naturally seems tiny because of the size of the house.  Clocking in at nearly 11,700 square feet, it has 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and 2 half baths.

Here are a few photos of the interior:

The kitchen (above) is probably the nicest looking room in the house.  And the coffered ceiling in the keeping room below is a nice touch.

But we can barely tell his dining room . . .

from his living room . . .

. . . or his study:

Enough with the chandeliers and beveled-glass windows already!

Look, we like Steve.  But we think he's yet another celebrity of humble origins who feels the need to show off his wealth with an oversized ostentatious house.

Tell us, do you think it's too much?  Or is it simply a well-earned reward for achieving success through fame and hard work?

See the agent's listing for additional photos.  Hat tip to Celebrity Address Aerial!

  1. Definitely, too much. Seems like this house would show much better if it was furnished.

Also, it looks really sterile on the outside because there is no landscaping.

  2. Good points Beach Gal! If the furniture was anything like the suits Steve wears, maybe the realtor had good reason to ask him to remove it! No excuse for the bare yard though!

  3. I agree that the house is too much, and the rooms are hard to designate their usage. I love
Steve Harvey comedy routines. Good Luck to him on his appearances on Good Morning America.

  4. 11,700 sq. ft. spread over *5* Bedrooms! Wow that is a monsterous house! Huge and ridiculous. BTW, where is Plano, Texas and are there enough fat cat oil executives to buy a big old ugly house there?

  5. The one thing people forget is that Texas Homes usually do not have basements. The properties often sprawl out according to the buyer's means. This house is no more gaudy, sterile or plain when compared to others, especially when you consider the region the home is in. Texas isnt exactly known for it's plant life, especially when you consider the area's propensity to draughts.

  8. I think you are a hater, if this was a white man with many chandeliers you would probably praise him and say how beautiful! Your blog is disproportionately critical of those not caucazoid.
